Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) VIP 34 Squadron Transport Bizjets Pop into CQ Airports

On Tuesday 15 May, there was a nice pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) VIP 34 Squadron aircraft that were noted and spotted calling into CQ Airports.

RAAF Boeing B737-7DF(BBJ) A36-002 was noted touching down at Hamilton Island Airport from Sydney as "Wisdom 49".  After spending the day on Hamo it then departed and looked to be heading to Townsville.

Meanwhile, RAAF Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet A37-003 was spotted touching down at Rockhampton Airport. It looked to arrive from Townsville having flown into there from the South earlier in the day.

A37-003 was heard to be flying as "Wisdom 41" and brought the Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison to town for some engagements.

At the time of writing, A37-003 looked to be spending the night at Rocky.

Finally, another RAAF aircraft in the form of Beech B350 Super King Air A32-670 was noted departing from Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport as "Wisdom 51".

Certainly interesting to note that the Super King Air which is usually flown by the RAAF's 38 Squadron was using a callsign of the 34 VIP Squadron.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter 'IAD' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos at Rockhampton Airport!
